The 2013 Review is the second such undertaking by the Gauteng City-Region Observatory (GCRO) and serves to collate the diverse fields of research embarked upon at the GCRO into a single overarching analysis of the Gauteng City-Region for 2013.
The Review is divided into six chapters; these include Life and People, Quality of Life, Space and Mobility, Regional Economy, Government and Governance, and Sustainability. These wide-ranging themes combined with the Review’s interactive format hopefully make the GCRO’s synthesis of its research accessible and interesting to a wide audience. Serving as a base for greater debate by government, business, academics, and residents, the Review aims to assist in enabling a city-region of equal opportunity, improved quality of life, sustainability and enhanced public participation.
